Is Adam Kokesh crazy or courageous?

(NaturalNews) Adam vs. the Man activist Adam Kokesh, a Marine Corps Reserve veteran, has announced an armed march on Washington D.C. for July 4th. The event calls for protesters to carry loaded rifles slung across their backs as they march on Washington. It has been announced on Kokesh's Facebook page.

Appearing briefly on the Alex Jones Show today, Adam Kokesh explained, "This is an armed revolt against the American government. Make no mistake about it."

The mainstream media is already calling Kokesh "radicalized," although such accusations carry no credibility whatsoever from a leftist media that believes anyone who even owns a gun is a possible terrorist. So I don't pay any attention to what they call people. Most media heads are freedom-hating morons to begin with. Their voices don't even count.

So let's examine this from the perspective of the informed, liberty-minded kind of people who read Natural News:

On one hand, there's no denying Adam Kokesh has a monstrous set of cajones. Announcing such an event takes a level of courage bordering on sheer insanity (for reasons I'll outline below). But at one level, you gotta hand it to Kokesh for being willing to stand his ground on issues he believes in. If more people followed their passions and refused to be silenced by government, we wouldn't be living under a tyrannical government regime in the first place.

On the issue of gun rights, Kokesh and I agree on the principles: Americans have a sacred right to "keep and bear arms," and yes, that even means walking down the street with an AR-15 slung over your shoulder if that's your choice.

Doing so in Washington D.C., however, is currently a crime (because of DC's unconstitutional gun laws), and that means Kokesh and those who join him in the march are willing to be arrested or possibly even shot for standing their ground on their beliefs.

Again, that stance is actually commendable at a philosophical level. If you're not willing to die for liberty, you don't really understand what liberty is. But what concerns me about this march is not the principle upon which it is being conducted... it's the ease in which the whole thing could be turned into a government false flag event

  1. AWASHINGTON, May 24, 2013 – Political activist Adam Kokesh was released from the Philadelphia Federal Detention Center Friday night, May 24. The former Marine was charged with a felony for actions during a legalization of marijuana rally. Those felonies have been reduced to citations.

Kokesh was held in jail and allegedly denied the right to make one phone call during his four days of incarceration, during which he was held in a “federal cage.” Friends and family members have protested outside the courthouse, crying for the release of Kokesh.

Kokesh was arrested May 18 while exercising his First Amendment rights during a public protest. On May 24, Kokesh posted to his radio show Adam vs. The Man :

"When a government has repeatedly and deliberately failed to follow its own laws, violated the fundamental human rights of its citizens, threatened the sanctity of a free press, created institutions intended to eliminate privacy of communication, waged war at the behest of special interest that threatens the public safety, killed hundreds of children with drone strikes, imprisoned and destroyed the lives of countless individuals for victimless crimes, stifled economic opportunity to maintain the dominance of the financial elite, stolen from the people through an absurd system of taxation and inflation, sold future generations into debt slavery, and abused it is power to suppress political opposition, it is unfit to exist and it becomes the duty of the people to alter or abolish that government by whatever means necessary to secure liberty and ensure peace. A new American revolution is long overdue."

Kokesh continues: “This revolution has been brewing in the hearts and minds of the people for many years, but this independence day, it shall take a new form as the American Revolutionary Army will march on each state capital to demand that the governors of these 50 states immediately initiate the process of an orderly dissolution of the federal government through secession and reclamation of federally held property. Should one whole year from this July 4th while the crimes of this government are allowed to continue, we may have passed the point at which non-violent revolution becomes impossible. The time to sit idly by has passed. To remain neutral is to be complicit, just doing your job is not an excuse, and the line in the sand has been drawn between the people, and the criminals in Washington, D.C. while some timid souls will say that it is too early, the we can solve this problem through democratic means provided by government, that current levels of taxation are reasonable for the services provided, and that the crimes of this government are merely a tolerable nuisance, it may already be too late. While there is risk in drastic action, the greater danger lies in allowing this government to continue unchallenged "

Exercising First Amendment rights at a protest is granted to all citizens in America. We all must stand united behind American constitutional rights, powers and duties. We have to stand on the constitutional values this country was founded on.

"I had reasoned this out in my mind, there was one of two things I had a right to, liberty or death; if I could not have one, I would have the other.” Harriet Tubman.
